Game of love 60- BRIGHT LIGHT

BRIGHT LIGHT

Once upon a time there was a bright light. It was a Big Beautiful Light that filled up everything everywhere, and that was all there was.

โ€˜I amโ€™ โ€˜I am... I am the one in every oneโ€™

Like the sun it shone and the light was made of love and happiness. One time the Big Beautiful Light got so happy it exploded with joy. Little pieces made of light began to appear. All of the pieces of light vibrated with love. Everything we see and hear and everything we cannot see or hear, all of it is filled with the Great Light. Now, near the big beautiful light there were lots of little lights like sparks. All the little sparks loved being near the big beautiful light but some of the sparks got further and further away. The further away they got, the sadder they became. They longed to return to the Big Light because that was where they were happiest.

In the Big Light I feel at home, even though I am further away now it is still ok because I have some of the Big Light inside of me.

Then one day a little spark came into the world in the form of a beautiful girl. She was the youngest out of five children who came as sparks. All of the other sparks wanted her to be just like them, but she was different.

My Dearest spark, Donโ€™t worry about the voices outside, just chant the name of the guru within.

Vaheguroo... Vaheguroo... Vaheguroo

I am with you now, I will always be with you

She sparked very beautifully because she remembered the Big Light inside of her.

As the little girl grew older she began to forget her Beautiful Big Light and was more interested in family, friends and school.

The world was an exciting place, there were lots of good people... and some not so good.

Years passed and the girl had little children of her own, she loved them for they were close to the Big Beautiful light too!! She loved to take them to the park and play with them and have lots of fun together.

The little spark proclaimed "Now I understand, the Big Beautiful Light has created a big universe and in that wonderful universe there are lots of little sparks everywhere, in the trees, grass and rocks. And there are sparks inside of every animal and person. But sometimes I forget and then I feel lonely and sad and I just want to be with you again. Sometimes I have remembered you and sometimes I forgot you. How can I always remember You and never forget You?"

Oh my dear, sweet spark, I have not left you for a moment. Every time you want to feel me.... meditate on the Naam. Rise in the early hours of the morning and go to the Guruโ€™s house.

My light is very strong there. Then you will be with me ALL day!

By the Guruโ€™s Grace the girl mediated in the early hours of the morning and found her own light once again.

The girl now lives closely with her Big Beautiful Light everywhere she goes.

"Oh my mind, you are the embodiment  of the divine light recognise your own origin."

Game of love 59- WITHOUT THE TRUE GURU

WITHOUT TRUE GURU

Guru Amardas ji says, they alone are a sikh, a friend, a relative and a sibling, who walk in the way of the Gurus will. Guru sahib ji then says, one who walks according to their own will by using their own mind, rather than the Gurus teachings, suffers separation from vaheguroo and will be punished. Guru Ji then goes on to say, without the True Guru peace is never obtained, they regret and repent again and again. They say, it's only the lords slaves that remain happy at all times. Their countless sins are eradicated through meditation on Vaheguroo's name. Vaheguroo looks after them and himself unites them in Gods union.

When I read shabads (teachings) like the above, I feel so blessed to be a sikh. Guru sahib ji has blessed his mercy on us. We shouldn't waste this human life.

Find good sangat and begin to purify your mind through the blessed True Gurus teachings.

"Those who eat and dress without serving the True Guru die; after death, those wretched lepers are consigned to reincarnation."

Game of love 58- WORD (BACHAN)

WORD (BACHAN)

Back in the days, the Gurus Sikhs had a very strong character and were respected very highly for it. If a sikh was witness to any injustice, their word was taken as Gospel and believed without any doubt or question. One of Guru sahib Jis 52 commands was, a sikh will never lie or turn a blind eye as a witness.

Today our word and character as humans has become very weak, we give our word and never see it through. Then we say chal koyna (oh never mind it's ok). Back in the days our word was our character, whatever we said, we made sure we actioned. We lived and died by our word. No one would want to get on the wrong side of a sikh and upset them, Incase they spoke some harsh words and were forced to follow them through. Their zubaan (toungue/word) was everything.

"Those who have one thing in their heart and something else in their mouth are judged to be false." Bhagat Farid Ji

The above shabad is beautiful. Guru sahib ji also talks about kissing the feet and face of those, who have recognised the truth through the love of Vaheguroo's meditation.

Today we make false promises, we fail to acknowledge other Sikhs with a fateh (sikh greeting) or acknowledge via text, email, social media etc. we are very poor with our punjabi mentality of being punctual, the list goes on. Guru sahib says, "the one who respects time, I call them a true human".

Our Mann (mind), Bach (word) and Karam (actions) all need to be pure. This will make us the true Khalsa (pure ones), that Guru ji created.

It's easy to be false and fake. Genuine truthful human beings will always be respected and stand out above all.

Our word (bachan) remains pure only through meditation on Vaheguroo's name.

"They are so brave; they are men of their word."

Game of love 57- IGNORANCE

IGNORANCE

"The shabad (vaheguroo) dispels the spiritual ignorance within and through the True Guru, one finds peace."

Guru Amardas Ji 1479-1574
One morning, when our new teacher of "Introduction to the Rights" entered the classroom, the first thing he did was to ask the name of a student seated on the front bench:
โ€œWhat is your name?โ€
โ€œMy name is Harjan, Sir.โ€
โ€œLeave the classroom immediately and I don't want to ever see you in my class!โ€ screamed the teacher.
Harjan was bewildered but, when he got hold of his senses, he got up quickly, collected his belongings and left the classroom.
All were scared and angry but none did or said anything.
โ€œWellโ€ฆโ€, said the new teacher, โ€œwhom do the enacted Laws serve?โ€
We were all afraid but slowly gained confidence and began to answer his questions.
โ€œSo that there is order in societyโ€.
โ€œNo!โ€ the teacher responded.
โ€œTo accomplish them."
โ€œNo!โ€
โ€œSo that the people who wrong others pay for their actions?โ€
โ€œNo! Does nobody here know the answer to this question?"
โ€œSo that there is justiceโ€, a girl said timidly.
โ€œAt last! Thatโ€™s it... so that there is justice! And now, what is the use of justice?โ€
All began to feel uneasy with such a rude attitude but followed on answering:
โ€œTo safeguard human rights...โ€
โ€œWell, what more?โ€ asked the teacher.
โ€œTo differentiate right from wrong... to reward the good...!โ€
โ€œOk... not bad, however,... answer this: Did I act rightly when expelling Harjan from the classroom earlierโ€ฆ?โ€
All were quiet, nobody answered.
โ€œI want a decisive and unanimous answer!โ€
โ€œNo!" we all replied in unison.
โ€œWould you say I committed injustice?โ€
โ€œYes!โ€
โ€œAnd why did nobody do or say anything about that then? Why do we have or need Laws and Rules if we don't have the will needed to practice them? Each and every one of you has the obligation to complain when you witness injustice. Remember, each and every one of you!  Do not stay quietโ€ฆ never again! Now, go and call Harjan back,โ€ he said staring at me.
That day, I received the most practical lesson ever in my entire Law course.
When we don't defend our Rights, we lose our dignityโ€ฆ and dignity is never negotiable! Gurus Sikhs should never turn a blind eye!

Game of love 56- POWERFUL FAITH

POWERFUL FAITH

This story took place two years ago. A sikh soldier was celebrating the martyrdom of Guru ArjunDev ji. He was meditating on Vaheguroo's name whilst preparing and serving langar (food). Just then, a Hindu officer approached the soldier and very rudely asked, "what are you doing here?" The soldier explained the story of Guru ArjunDev Jis martyrdom with great love.

The Hindu officer very rudely spoke for the second time and said, "how is this possible, no human can sit on a burning hot plate." The officer continued being very rude and kept questioning the soldier. "He kept saying this is a joke, it can not be true."

The soldier got very upset in listening to this and went sat on a burning hot plate where the langar (food) was being prepared. When witnessing this the officer burst out in to tears and quickly rushed to get the soldier off the plate, he fell at his feet and repeated, "you Sikhs are amazing people, your faith is unmovable, you are very pure at heart and you can not accept the disrespect of your Guru."The soldier lifted the officer and embraced him with a hug.

If we have faith in Guru ji, nothing will come near us. Guru ji will always be our saviour and protect us.

"The hot winds do not even touch those who are protected by their Guru."

Game of love 55- IDENTITY

IDENTITY

Daas was mona (cut hair) many years ago, until Guru sahib ji took pitty on me and blessed me in their divine sanctuary. Whilst sat there, the speaker on the stage was talking about Guru Teghbahadur Jis sacrifice for the Hindu faith.

Cutting a long story very short, the Hindu hill kings were being converted to Islam, they were given an option to convert or to bring them a saint, who will sacrifice his head, in order to save their faith.

The Hindus approached the 9th Guru, Guru Teghbahadur ji and requested for a saint to sacrifice their head. Gobind Rai (Guru Gobind Singh Ji, son of Guru Teghbahadur), at the age of 5 spoke and said, "there is no greater saint than you father, to give your head and save the Hindu faith". Guru ji accepted and they were beheaded. Guru Ji was named, "Hindh di Chadar" (the saviour of Hinduism).

Guru Jis head was brought back to Gobind Rai, they asked how many Sikhs were present, Bhai Jetha replied, "there were many sikh families but I couldn't recognise any, they all looked like Muslims and Hindus."

Gobind Rai said, "I will create such a Khalsa, that will stand out in thousands. All my khalsa will keep their kesh (hair) and both males and females will wear tall turbans."

When hearing this story, I went home, looked in the mirror and saw myself as a None sikh person, with the surname Singh standing at the mirror. From that day onwards I did ardaas, for Guru Ji to bless me and never looked back since. Guru ji took immense pitty.

I was faced by many problems whilst keeping my hair but If we have faith in Guru Ji and ardaas, they will pull us through and never let us down. Guru Ji loves us more than we can ever comprehend.

Guru sahib blessed his Sikhs with sardaaree (turbans). Only highly
respected, rich people were allowed to wear a turban back in the days. Guru ji said, "all my sikhs will wear a turban, and no one will have the courage to stop them."

"Purify what is impure and let the lords presence be your religious tradition. Let your total awareness be the turban on your head."

Game of love 53- SECRET WITHIN

SECRET WITHIN

"Deep within the self is the secret, but the fool looks for it outside."

Guru AmarDas Ji 1479-1574

There is a secret within us all. Many people search outside for those things that will answer their souls questions. However, contemplating on the innermost you and through sincere effort and blessing, you will find that all the answers to your questions are found within.

We all ignore the fact that death can take us at any time. No one knows when they will breathe their last.

Lately I have experienced many young deaths, there one minute and gone the next. We always think the elders will pass away first. We live as though we will never die. When our time comes, we will have to depart. Who can save us from leaving this body when death calls. No one will come anywhere near helping us.

We spend most of our life, studying, working, collecting money, buying land, buying many houses, buying many cars and living luxurious life styles. When our time is up none of this is going with us, we will leave it all behind. We put our mind and body through so much stress and pressure to earn all we have, yet it will all be left here. We will not even get the space of a bathroom in the house we spent many years earning for.

Guru sahib ji says, we have a life as a diamond, yet we waste it for mere shells.

The secret within is Gur Amrit Naam. Meditation on this naam is the only substance, which will fulfil our soul and answer all our questions. Through this naam we will be blessed with the respect, love and knowledge of this world and the spirit world.

Naam, Gurbaani and the loved blessings (asseesaa) of Gursikhs, is the only gem which will support our soul on the other side.

Game of love 54- DISCIPLINE

DISCIPLINE

"One can not be called a sikh without physical/spiritual discipline. One will suffer at every door."

Rehitnama, Amrit kirtan

Most of the Game Of Love posts have been based on spiritual discipline (rehit), we have not really spoke much on physical discipline.

Physical discipline is as important in a Sikhs life as spiritual discipline. They both work hand in hand, one can not be complete without the other. Physical discipline protects and holds the spiritual shabad (word/mantra) within the mind.

Guru sahib has made it clear, without Amrit, Guru, Sangat and spiritual/physical rehit (discipline) we can not be complete and liberate our soul. For a sikh the Gurus way is a must.

The minimum discipline for a sikh is 5Ks (panj kakaar) through an Amrit Sanchaar ceremony. Many baptised Sikhs keep additional disciple i.e. Bana (attire) and a preparation of their own food.

Every army has it's own uniform and discipline. We are the army of God (akaal purakh ki fauj), so in the same way we have ours.

Many people argue saying, only the mind needs to be pure and we don't need to accept the Amrit. It always makes me ask, so was Guru Gobind Singh Jis mind not pure for them to create this blessed Amrit (blessed nectar). Amrit means, to bring the dead back to life (shedding light on the ignorant mind). Guru ji created the Amrit, blessed it to 5 singhs and then begged for it from them (panj).

If we are meditating on  Vaheguroo's name, we will only truly be blessed and feel the full affect of it when we go to the panj (5 singhs) and beg for the name in the blessed presence of Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

Vaheguroo!

Game of love 52- COMPANY

COMPANY

"Saintly people continually peck at the divine name, like swans pecking at pearls in the ocean."

Guru Amardas Ji 1479-1574

The company of saintly and good people is sought by all. Seek the company of those who make you feel happy, comfortable and peaceful. Soon, you will find that you become like them and enrich your own daily feelings and experiences.

Meditation on naam is what develops saintly people. Guru sahib says, when we remember vaheguroo with love in single minded concentration, in that instants we become saintly.

Saintly people never let go of the naam as they are aware, it's only the naam that will purify their mind from negativity and guide them through this terrifying world ocean.

We will always become like our company, whether it's positive or negative, so it's very important we seek the company of like minded spiritual beings. Our sangat (company) will always pull us through.

"The treacherous and terrifying world ocean is crossed over, in the boat of the saadh sangat." Guru Arjun Dev Ji

Vaheguroo!

Game of love 51- QUARREL

QUARREL

"Do not fall in to a quarrel by calling someone bad."

Guru Nanaj Dev Ji 1469-1539

Quarrels bring grief to all those involved. No quarrel can solve a problem. Avoid such negativity and look for a positive solution to every situation you face.

When we quarrel with others, we always assume we are right through our ego. The funny thing is, quarrels are usually very trivial and can normally be resolved without getting heated. Our minds are so focussed and trained in this taste of ego, that it has become natural for us to quarrel and argue. We have virtually accepted this way of life for resolving problems.

The other day I witnessed two people quarrelling, they were having a real go at each other. When asked what they were quarrelling about and calming them both down, it ended up as a nothing issue.

We usually get heated over small issues, blow them out of proportion and end up winding each other up. When we are given time to relax, calm down and re-think the whole situation, the result and outcome is always different to the way we handled it with a hot head.

Experiencing this argument looked really bad from an outsiders point of view. Just remember this is how we look in front of others when we quarrel.

We have to learn to remain calm when someone wants to quarrel with us. Calm them down, listen to exactly what they are saying and come to a solution whilst calm.Try not to wind them up, as anger coming together always makes situations worse. This may mean walking away from the situation and asking to speak later. Relationships take many years to build, yet seconds to destroy.

Meditation on the naam, always replaces angry thoughts, in to more positive thoughts and actions.

Guru Angad Dev Ji says, "I am not good; no one is bad." So who are we quarrelling with.

Vaheguroo!

Game of love 50- SWEET SPEECH

SWEET SPEECH

"My dear lord and master, my friend, speaks so sweetly."

Guru Arjun Dev Ji 1563-1606

In this shabad, Guru ArjunDev Ji goes on to say, "I have gone on to test god but he never hurts anyone by speaking harsh words. God struggles to speak bitter words and does not even look at anyone's negatives, as all is one. This is the natural way in which vaheguroo (god) purifies and saves sinners."

When we are in the remembrance and contemplation of god 24/7 with every breath, our conscious mind will never let us speak bad about anyone or look at anyone's negatives, as the love and virtues of God will shine through us and naturally we would see the good in all with every breath. Life would be in the form of a mirror, what we experience on the inside, would shine forth on the outside and all our virtues would be seen in everyone we meet.

Also the same happens in the opposite way; When we are negative, narrow minded and very judgemental, we would treat everybody else in the same way and not trust anyone.

This is why Guru Ji says, practise the virtue of humility and sweet speech, as this pierces the hearts of all and we would only be offered love and respect back in return.

Sweet speech consists of, speaking softly, speaking in humility, love and respect, and speaking with good manners. Most people are judged through the words they speak.

The spirit is connected to love, so most sane people react positively to virtuous sweet speaking human beings..

The way one walks, their body language, the way they write, the look in their eyes, aura, energy and everything about them will become warm and sweet. All the above is developed through constant meditation on Vaheguroo's name, as meditation replaces anger, harsh words, ego and balances the mind.

"The one who is sweet and dear to the lord is loved and dear to all, all others come and go in vain." Guru Amardas ji. "Jo har ka pyaaraa, so sabna ka pyaara."

Vaheguroo!

Game of love 49- LOYALTY

LOYALTY

"A dog never abandons the home of his master."

Guru Teghbahadur Ji 1621-1675

As Sikhs we can learn from anything and everything, we just have to be open minded and relate everything to god. This usually happens when we meditate and contemplate on Vaheguroo's name.

Guru sahib ji has mentioned many animals in Gurbani and related them with god, just as the line above.

Dogs are very loving and loyal animals, if treated with love, affection and taught correctly, there is no animal like them for their obedience.

In the same way a sikh should be loyal, faithful, obedient and ever loving to vaheguroo (god).

A small story came to mind, In which turned my love, loyalty and faith closer to Guru ji.

The power of love and a teaching of loyalty to our master (God, Guru)!

Hachiko was a Japanese Akita dog in japan. His master was a Professor. He walked to the train station everyday with his master and went home, hachiko always came back to collect the Professor daily. The Professor had a heart attack at school one day and never returned home via the train. Hachiko the dog, travelled to the train station every single day for 10 years, at exactly the same time to collect his master but sadly he never met with him ever again. He died daily in his longing and remembrance and eventually after 10 years of yearning and waiting in love, he died and was buried by the side of his master.

Are we as loyal to our master (Guru ji), if yes, does it show in our spiritual development, character and physical appearance.

Vaheguroo!

Game of love 48- GURSIKH LOVE

GURSIKH LOVE

The humility of Guru Ramdas Ji is immense. 1534-1581

"O Gurmukhs, O my friends and companions, give me the gift of the Lord's Name, the life of my very life.
I am the slave, the servant of the Guru's Sikhs, who meditate on the Lord God, the Primal Being, night and day. Within my mind and body, I have enshrined love for the feet of the Guru's Sikhs.O my life-mates, O Sikhs of the Guru, O Siblings of Destiny, instruct me in the Teachings, that I might merge in the Lord's Merger."

Bapu Ji (father, Guru ji) shared something amazing yesterday. He said we can measure someone's love for Sikhi and Guru Sahib, by seeing how they treat other Gursikhs and Sangat.

Gursikhs belong to Guru Sahib so if we have love for Guru Sahib, we will automatically have love for everything related to Guru Sahib, especially his Gursikhs.

Reminds me of something someone else had said earlier, that we should kiss the feet of even a dog that lives near a Gursikhs house! But sometimes we can't even treat Gursikhs with any love, forget about the dog.

We have lost our love for Guru Sahib Ji, this is the reason, why we don't have the same love for Gursikhs anymore. We don't live our live's according to the Gurbaani lines at the top of the page.

"Gurbaani Banneeai" ang (page) 304. Guru Ramdas Ji says, become Gurbaani, the walking figure of Guru Jis perfect and spiritual teachings.

Vaheguroo!

Game of love 47- POWER

POWER

"I respectively bow to those who have power, yet remain humble."

Bhai Gurdas Ji 1551-1636

Power can destroy or heal. Power can turn the mind away from the needs of the soul. Those people who have power yet attend to the needs of the spirit, realise what true power is. When you have true power always remember your humility towards others.

Power can come in many forms, some people have the power and wealth of money, some people have the power of status, authority and positions.

Everyone is powerful in their own way. Guru sahib ji tells us, the most powerful human being is the one that remembers god (vaheguroo). If we don't remember god, all worldly power and wealth is worthless. We need to remember all we have is gods (Guru Jis), they can give and take back at any time.

"All wealth, power and the eight miraculous spiritual powers are in the supremely sublime essence of naam."
Guru ArjunDev Ji.

The god loving human being will always remain humble, even if they have all the wealth and power in the world.

The aura and energy of naam will always keep them radiant and powerful in both this world and the next (spirit world).

Let's forget fighting for worldly positions, as in the end these positions will be filled by others after we depart. We will only be remembered if we have loved, respected and genuinely helped others whilst having the power of these worldly positions.

Vaheguroo!

Game of love 46- PARENTS

PARENTS

"O son, why do you argue with your father? It is a sin to argue with those who nurtured and raised you."

Guru Ramdas Ji 1534-1581

In this day and age, it has become the norm to disrespect our elders and get away with it.

We have started to think, they should do as we say and not the other way round. Parents also have adopted this philosophy, and have started to let children get away with disrespecting them.

Equality has hit another level, we want to be equals with everyone and everything they do.

When daas was growing up, whatever the parents said was final, no questions asked. In this way love and respect stayed intact.

We have forgotten about what our parents have done for us, they brought us in to this world, nurtured us, clothed us, educated us, fed us. The question is, what haven't they done for us.

In reality, we can not pay our parents back for what they have done for us. Without them, we wouldn't have been who we are today.

Please remember this the next time we have a petty falling out with our parents.

Guru sahib ji has given parents the respect of god, they gave us our first teachings. Let's remember all the good they have done for us and guaranteed we would never upset them again. Their short falls come no where near.

Ego and anger is only controlled through meditation, which creates a balance within.

"The name of The Lord is the medicine; it is like an axe, which destroys the diseases caused by anger and egotism." Guru ArjunDev Ji

Unconditional love is the only substance we can repay our parents with.

Vaheguroo!

Game of love 45- FIRST SERMON

FIRST SERMON

"O Guru Amardas Ji, your glorious virtues are so sublime; your praises belong only to you."

Bhatt Bal Ji ang 1396.

Sree Guru Amar Das Jeeโ€™s First Sermon

When Sree Guru Amar Das jee became Guru, historians have recorded his first words to the Sangat:

โ€œIf someone treats you badly, bear it. If you bear it three times, the fourth time Vaheguroo will be on your side. The aggressor will be given such a punishment that he will not be able to save himself regardless of all his efforts. Vaheguroos grindstone (of justice) may turn very slowly, but the grain is ground very finely (the justice is perfect).โ€

Then Guru jee read the 21st PauRee of Sree Asa Kee Vaar โ€œJit saeviai sukh paeeai so sahib sadaa samaaleeaaiโ€ฆโ€

He then continued,

โ€œBe kind to everyone. Having pride over anything is not noble.

Consider the company (immoral relations) with another woman/man to be like the company of a snake or a murderous elephant. Never even by mistake go into bad Sangat (company).

Humility is the greatest weapon. Never speak badly.

Those who praise themselves are always lost. The path of dharma is the abandoning of slander (ninda).

Donโ€™t spend or eat more than you need to. Also work just as much as you need to. Donโ€™t do anything above and beyond the need for it.

Leave behind fakeness and hypocrisy. A life of false show is always a painful one.

If someone is a Sikh of the Guru, listen and obey him.

Loving another woman/man, even if he/she is a devotee of God (bhagtaNee) is a relationship which will result in loss not gain.

Go to and meet the Shabad of the Guru. Do not go somewhere where the Guru is forgotten.

Eat when you are hungry. Donโ€™t fill what is already filled. But donโ€™t abandon food either. Sleep when you feel very sleepy. Donโ€™t sleep without feeling tired. Donโ€™t pain your body.

Listen to the stories of the Guru. Sing Shabads and listen too. Donโ€™tโ€™ speak falsehood.

If someone is forgetting about the Guru, try and remind them. Speak to them from the heart. If they donโ€™t listen, then itโ€™s up to them.

Take the Guruโ€™s words to heart. Give (the Guru) at least a tenth of your earnings. Keep the company of good people and serve those you encounter.

Before putting anything in your mouth, say Vaheguroo. Vaheguroo will bless it.
Those who have day and night japped Vaheguroo, and left their ego, they are the truly high and good ones.

Controlling oneโ€™s desires is Dharam. One who does this is jeevan mukath (liberated while alive).

One who is a beloved of God cannot ever remain bound by any restraints. He is free. He is above all tradition, custom, fortune, luck, and delusion.

Vaheguroo!

Game of love 44- GURU

GURU

"Leaving a side the philosophers stone in the form of the True Guru, people go on searching the materialistic philosophers stone."

Bhai Gurdaas Ji 1551-1636

A young child went to a Gursikh and stated that no matter how hard he tried to keep Gurbani in his heart, he just could not understand or keep it. He stated that his mind was not a bucket, but a strainer which let everything pass through and did not contain the meaning of Gurbani.

The Gursikh said "Let us try an experiment. Here is a strainer, and here is some water. Now pour a bucket of water through the strainer." The child did this and said "See, the water was not contained, it just passed through. My mind is just like this." The Gursikh said "Do it once more," so he did, and still the water passed through the strainer. The Gursikh said "Do it ten times at least." The child did, and at the end of this experiment he said "See, water still passes through, no matter how many times and how many buckets we pass through it." The gursikh said "Look carefully at the strainer and see if there is any thing different." The child did, and his eyes were fillled with tears, and he said "Yes I see the difference now. The grimy dirty strainer is now shiny and bright, like never before."

The Gursikh said "My son, this is what Gurbani does for you. It cleans your mind, and even if you do not realise it, it slowly cleanses your mind and protects you from the five vices. The more you recite Gurbani, your mind will not only become shinier, but become like the bucket itself, which will not only become clean but hold the meaning of Gurbani in your heart." The child smiled and felt he had received the best example of the power of Gurbani ever.

Gurbani is that detergent that cleanses the mind of its dirt. The more we rub our mind with Gurbani the cleaner it will get. Dhur kee baani is full of amrit. Whoever utters baani of Satguru literally drinks Amrit.

"Gurbaani is the light to illuminate this world; by his grace, it comes to abide within the mind." Guru Amardas Ji.

Game of love 43- SHORT LESSONS

SHORT LESSONS

Read this the other day, made a lot of sense. So much wisdom in so few words.

"Make spiritual wisdom your molasses, and meditation your scented flower; let good deeds be the herbs.

Guru Nanak Dev Ji 1469-1539

I've  learned ...That  the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person.

I've  learned ....  That when you're in love, it shows (god).

I've  learned ....  That just one person saying to me, 'You've made my day!'  makes my day.

I've  learned ....  That having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of the  most peaceful feelings in the  world.

I've  learned ....  That being kind is more important than being  right.

I've  learned ....  That you should never say no to a gift from a child.

I've  learned ....  That I can always pray for someone when I don't have the strength to help him in some other way.

I've  learned ....  That no matter how serious your life requires you to be,  everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.

I've  learned ....  That sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a  heart to understand.

I've  learned ....  That simple walks with my father around the block on summer nights when I was a child did wonders for me as an adult.

I've  learned ....  That life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.

I've  learned ....  That we should be glad God doesn't give us everything we ask for.

I've  learned ....  That money doesn't buy peace.

I've  learned ....  That it's those small daily happenings that make life so  spectacular.

I've  learned ....  That under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.

I've  learned ....  That to ignore the facts does not change the facts.

I've learned ....  That when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that person continue to hurt you.

I've  learned ....  That love, not time, heals all wounds.

I've  learned ....  That the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to  surround myself with people smarter and wiser than I am.

I've  learned ....  That everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a  smile..

I've  learned ....  That no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.

I've  learned ...  That life is tough, but I'm tougher and stronger.

I've  learned ....  That opportunities are never lost; someone will take the  ones you miss.

I've  learned ....  That when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.

I've  learned ....  That I wish I could have told my Mom that I love her one  more time before she passed away.

I've  learned ....  That one should keep his words both soft and tender, because  tomorrow he may have to eat them.

I've  learned .....  That a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your  looks.

I've  learned .....  That when your newly born grandchild holds your little finger in his little fist, that you're hooked for life.

I've  learned ....  That everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all  the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it.

I've  learned ....  That the less time I have to work with, the more things I  get done.

Game of love 42- ONE BREATH

ONE BREATH

"There is only one breath, we are all made from the same clay."

Guru Ram Das Ji 1534-1581

We all breathe the same air. We share this planet. We are all made from the same elements. Remember this when your mind begins to differentiate between people. We are all made from 5 elements of earth, water, air, fire and ether (sound).

This clay is created by the one but has been painted in many different forms, says Bhagat Kabir Ji. They say, as you see yourself, see others. Only in this way shall your soul be saved.

This clay will be destroyed in the end,  yet the soul will continue its journey.

So why waste time. Remember God and end the souls yearning. Go and meet with those who yearn for spiritual fulfilment and are content within. It's the only place we will experience true love.

The world is false, most are out for themselves. The spiritually uplifted are only out to conquer their mind, free their soul and encourage others to do the same.

"Servant Nanak begs for the dust of the feet of those Sikhs, who chant the naam and inspire others to chant it."

"Adopt such a guru so you don't have to adopt another again. Dwell in such a state, that you shall never have to dwell in any other again. Embrace such a meditation, so you don't have to embrace any other again. Die in such away, that you never have to die again." Bhagat Kabir Ji

Game of love 41- MIND

MIND

"Win over your mind, and you shall win over the world."

Guru Nanak Dev Ji 1469-1539

At times our mind can be our worst enemy. If you can control the pressures of the mind, then the outside world will become more manageable.

The mind has always been connected to god from the beginning. Over many life times this mind has been blackened with negative thoughts and pressures. The mind has a tendency of living in the past or future through the thoughts of our inner voice always speaking to us. Our mind is blackened further through the negative we speak, see, eat and hear.

The mind has forgotten the name of god, only through the meditation on naam can this mind discover it's true identity (god). The naam (vaheguroo) is the soap in which cleanses the mind in becoming pure again. Our senses should be controlled by naam. Sing gods praises, hear gods praise, see god in all and speak about the love and qualities of god.

"Oh my mind you are the embodiment of the divine light, recognise your own origin." Guru Amardas Ji.

Each thought is cleared when replaced by the name vaheguroo, the more we meditate, the more thoughts are cleared and the mind cleansed.  We begin to live in the present which is living in the acceptance of gods will. Eventually we reach the state of Sehj (true peace).

All our worldly affairs are dealt with by god themselves.
"The pursuit of worldly affairs comes to an end, when you embrace love for the true one." Guru Amardas Ji,

Every human being has the potential of becoming a spiritually pure Human being but we lack faith in god and ourselves.

When we become pure beings and reunite our souls with god whilst alive, then the world will feel our radiance of pure love through our divine aura and energy.
