Sikhi Game of love- LEAKING POTS

LEAKING POTS

Birthdays are the one celebration that is common across virtually the entire human race.

However, a Gurmukh once asked me to look at it from another perspective. He asked why are we celebrating the lessening the of our lives? We are observing that another year of our life has passed by.

The 9th Master, Guru Teg Bahadur Jee, has touched on this theme of human life, slipping away like the water that slowly leaks out of a cracked clay pot. All the while, we remain unaware of our true purpose; our opportunity to merge with the oneness.

But the most important teaching that Guru Sahib Ji blesses us with here is the fact that it is never too late to connect with the Naam meditation and achieve liberation within this life.

Gurbani is full of examples and messages to this effect. There are even many examples,  specifically of the worst sinners, being liberated by even just repeating the God’s Name once from deep within the heart.

Guru Teg Bahadur Jee blesses us with the following lines in this respect.

Chaethanaa Hai Tho Chaeth Lai Nis Dhin Mai Praanee ||
If you are conscious, then be conscious of Him night and day, O mortal.

Shhin Shhin Aoudhh Bihaath Hai Foottai Ghatt Jio Paanee ||1|| Rehaao ||
Each and every moment, your life is passing away, like water from a cracked pitcher. ||1||Pause||

Har Gun Kaahi N Gaavehee Moorakh Agiaanaa ||
Why do you not sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, you ignorant fool?

Jhoothai Laalach Laag Kai Nehi Maran Pashhaanaa ||1||
You are attached to false greed, and you do not even consider death. ||1||

Ajehoo Kashh Bigariou Nehee Jo Prabh Gun Gaavai ||
Even now, no harm has been done, if you will only sing God's Praises.

Kahu Naanak Thih Bhajan Thae Nirabhai Padh Paavai ||2||1||
Says Nanak, by meditating and vibrating upon Him, you shall obtain the state of fearlessness. ||2||1||

Vaheguroo!
