DHARAMSAAL

DHARAMSAAL

Yesterday, we celebrated the 20th anniversary of the opening of DharamSaal (spiritual school) Gurdwara Singh Sabha Bradford.

When the singhs first came together, they did an Ardaas (prayer before Guru Ji) collectively, they would stay together through thick and thin and spread Guru Sahibs spiritual teachings in West Yorkshire and around the world through the media.

The Goal they set definitely came true. With Guru sahibs kirpa, Singh Sabha Bradford has created many gursikhs in Bradford which have helped spread the message of gurmat throughout West Yorkshire and around the globe.

There are Gursikhs from every age at the Gurdwara, who influence others in adopting the spiritual path. The gursikhs have grown up as a family and been taught most their vidhya (teachings) from sevadaars of the Gurdwara. They have been taught to read Gurbaani, do Kirtan, meditate on naam, do the Seva of Guru Sahib Ji, teach Gurmat inspiration classes and the list goes on. The youth have always been very heavily involved in the running of the Gurdwara. There are camps every year, youth Sikhi classes, sports and Gatka classes and British speakers are invited to the Gurdwara on a regular basis to influence the path.

A benti to all youth, please get involved in Seva (service) at your local Gurdwara and help make a change, as this is how the chardeekallah (rising spirits) in the Panth (Gurus family) will increase. There are too many social (Sunday worship) Gurdwaras and not enough gurdwara dharamsaals, where children love going and being a part of the sangat.

Please forgive daas for any mistakes ji and May Guru sahib continue taking Seva from the Gursikhs at Gurdwara Singh Sabha and bless the Gurdwara with many more generations of spiritual Sikhi to come. This Gurdwara for our Gursikh sangat/family is sachkhand (the gate of truth)..

We have many buildings, it's what's inside them that matters most!!

Guru Ramdas Ji Says, "Age after age, the Family of the True Guru shall increase. As Gurmukh, they meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord"

The pic below is a few of the sangat that were here today!
